DIA's Somyi sues Garo Sero Institute!!
This character appeared at the right time when the war between Kim Soo Hyun and Garo Sero Institute was taking place in a tense and suffocating atmosphere.
Recently, the love scandal involving Kim Soo Hyun - Kim Sae Ron has consumed a lot of ink in the Asian press. The family of the late actress and the actor Kim also fought back and forth, giving out a series of conflicting information. In the midst of the extremely tense war, 2 characters claiming to be Kim Sae Ron's ex-boyfriend and ex-husband suddenly appeared to "add fuel to the fire". Up to now, another character has appeared to openly confront Garo Sero Institute - which sided with the family of the Kim beauty and released a series of information that was unfavorable to Kim Soo Hyun over the past 3 weeks.
According to Allkpop on the morning of March 28, singer Somyi (former member of DIA) sued Garo Sero Institute for defamation and libel. According to Somyi's representative, Garo Sero Institute posted a video containing false information about the young female idol, affecting her honor and image. Specifically, this YouTube channel released a video with the shocking title "DIA members fight over a man" in March last year, and this clip is said to be aimed at Somyi. However, Somyi's side affirmed that she did not have a romantic relationship with the man appearing in the clip.
Somyi's full statement reads as follows:
We would like to give our official stance on all malicious comments and false rumors targeting Somyi. We have investigated the baseless rumors and malicious comments targeting the female singer over the past time. After learning about the situation, we decided to take legal action to protect the rights and honor of our artists.
We would also like to take this opportunity to clarify one thing. Specifically, the accusations made by the Garo Sero Institute YouTube channel on March 2, 2024 through a video titled 'DIA members fight over a man' are completely false. Somyi has never dated PocketDol Studio CEO Kim Kwang Soo - the CEO character appearing in the video. We will take strong legal action to respond to Garo Sero Institute for spreading groundless rumors.
We will closely monitor the situation on social media platforms, and will seek legal intervention to stop malicious acts targeting our artists in the future. Creating and spreading false content targeting our artists is illegal. We pledge to protect the rights of our artists to the end. We look forward to receiving your attention and support.
Somyi was born in 2000 and joined the idol group DIA (T-ara's "younger sister" group) when she was just 17 years old. The female artist stopped working in 2019 and started working as a streamer on the 18+ platform 3 years later. However, the female idol stopped streaming since January 2023.
Somyi received a lot of expectations from the audience when she first debuted as "T-ara's younger sister" but did not achieve the expected success. Besides singing, the female artist also worked as a streamer
