Seoul Police Announce Investigation into Kim Soo Hyun and Late Actress Kim Sae Ron's Family

Park Hyun Soo, Acting Chief of Seoul Police, held a press conference on the 24th, addressing the investigation into allegations of defamation against Kim Soo Hyun. He stated, "A complaint was filed at the Gangnam Police Station on the 20th, and we plan to conduct an investigation and take statements from the complainant." He also updated on the investigation regarding YouTuber Lee Jin Ho's alleged defamation against Kim Sae Ron: "The case was transferred to Seodaemun Police Station on the 17th, and we are coordinating a schedule with the complainant."

The case originated from YouTube channel Garo-Seto Research Institute, which publicly released two photos provided by Kim Sae Ron's family. The family and Garo-Seto claimed that Kim Soo Hyun had a romantic relationship with Kim Sae Ron from November 2015, when she was still a minor, lasting six years. In response, Kim Soo Hyun's side initially denied the allegations, calling them false. However, after more photos of the two were released, they changed their stance, stating, "They began dating after Kim Sae Ron became an adult."

According to the police, a complaint was filed against Garo-Seto at Gangnam Police Station on the 20th for further questioning of Kim Soo Hyun's relationship.

Meanwhile, lawyer Bujiseok, representing Kim Sae Ron's family, filed a defamation lawsuit against YouTuber Lee Jin Ho on the 19th for spreading false information. Lee Jin Ho had repeatedly posted videos on his YouTube channel "Entertainment Head Lee Jin Ho," denying the romantic relationship between Kim Sae Ron and Kim Soo Hyun since 2022. However, after Kim Sae Ron was found deceased at her home on the 16th of the previous month, he set all the videos to private.
