It has been reported that the attack on the informant who leaked the late Kim Sae Ron‘s recordings was false.
According to the Consulate General in New York, they stated that there have been no recent arrests of Korean nationals in their jurisdiction for attempted murder or other crimes against Korean nationals living abroad.
According to Article 36 of the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations, local law enforcement must notify the relevant country’s consulate when a Korean citizen is arrested or detained. As of now, we have not received any notifications related to this from law enforcement agencies.
This means that the incident was not reported to the local investigative agency.
Regarding the claims that the FBI was investigating the informant’s assault, they stated, “This is information that our agency does not possess or manage.”
Netizens agreed that the whole situation felt fake from the beginning.

- “This seemed manipulated from the beginning…the people who believed it are strange.”
- “I knew this would happen. You can’t trust Garo Sero.”
- “What is wrong with Kim Se Ui?”
- “If this was a real attack it wouldn’t have been so quiet…they staged all this for nothing.”
Previously, Garo Sero revealed they held the press conference as the informant who possessed the late Kim Sae Ron’s recording was attacked.
