G-Dragon Officially Erases All Traces of Kim Soo Hyun Amid Scandal Storm

Actor Kim Soo Hyun is currently facing the biggest crisis of his career.

Rumors of Kim Soo Hyun dating Kim Sae Ron when she was still underage have dominated headlines for the past month. Amid the growing controversy, Kim has lost numerous endorsement deals and is being edited out of TV programs. On the morning of April 7, Xportsnews reported that MBC’s show Good Day had removed all of Kim Soo Hyun’s scenes from its April 6 broadcast. The actor, who was previously given a central position in earlier episodes, has now been completely cut from the show.

In the latest episode of Good Day, host G-Dragon and the guest stars collaborated on a recording of the song Telepathy. While G-Dragon pitched ideas and others actively contributed, Kim Soo Hyun was nowhere to be seen—missing his chance to showcase his vocals on national television.

Back on March 17, the Good Day production team officially confirmed that they had received viewer requests to remove all footage of Kim Soo Hyun. At that time, the team explained that due to the unresolved controversy surrounding the actor, they had decided to completely cut his airtime in upcoming episodes.

However, on the same day, the show’s reps added that it wouldn’t be possible to immediately remove Kim Soo Hyun from all content since the episodes were filmed 1–2 weeks in advance. Due to rushed editing and concerns about maintaining content quality, his appearance was minimized but still visible in the March 16 episode. According to the production team, scenes featuring Kim Soo Hyun from the second half of episode 5—filmed on February 18—have now been cut. His images will also be removed from episodes 6 and 7. Furthermore, solo scenes filmed on March 13—two days after the scandal broke—will not be aired.

The dating controversy erupted when a close associate of Kim Sae Ron’s family suddenly claimed on the Garo Sero Institute YouTube channel that the actress had dated Kim Soo Hyun. The informant alleged that the two stars were romantically involved from November 2015 to July 2021, and even accused Kim of emotionally manipulating Kim Sae Ron when she was still a minor. However, Kim Soo Hyun has consistently maintained that he only dated the former child star after she had reached adulthood.

In another shocking twist, Kim Sae Ron’s family accused Kim Soo Hyun of aggressively demanding repayment of a debt, causing her severe emotional distress. Back in 2022, Kim Sae Ron was involved in a drunk-driving scandal and was ordered to pay ₩700 milliog dragon in damages to the production company behind The Hunting Dogs.

According to Garo Sero Institute, Kim Soo Hyun lent Kim Sae Ron the money to cover the compensation, and later tried to recover the funds through legal channels. However, Kim Soo Hyun’s representatives denied that he had ever loaned her money or demanded repayment.

Gold Medalist, Kim Soo Hyun’s agency, firmly stated that they never requested any compensation from Kim Sae Ron for any reason, nor had they ever tried to forcibly collect a debt. The actor also announced that he is suing Kim Sae Ron’s family for defamation and spreading false information, seeking damages for the significant financial and emotional harm he claims to have suffered.
