On May 7, Gold Medalist, Kim Soo-hyun’s agency, released an official statement saying, “Garosero claimed at their press conference that they obtained an audio recording involving the late actress Kim Sae-ron. However, the alleged audio is completely fabricated. Gold Medalist believes the file was created using AI or similar technology.”

The agency then addressed the “informant” mentioned by Garosero, “The individual who delivered the recording to Garosero—hereafter referred to as ‘the audio provider’—is a con artist who also approached us claiming to possess an audio file in which the late Kim Sae-ron made favorable statements about Kim Soo-hyun. This person demanded money and sent us a portion of the audio, which turned out to be manipulated. We did not meet any of their demands.”

They added, “This audio provider had no connection whatsoever to the late Kim Sae-ron. After their scam attempt failed with us, they colluded with Garosero to release a forged recording. We strongly believe that the voice in the audio was fabricated using AI, and we are currently undergoing technical verification. Once the results are available, we will disclose them immediately.”

Regarding Garosero’s claim of an “attack photo”, the agency stated, “That photo is an outrageous lie and entirely implausible. It is, in fact, an image easily found through a basic internet search. Garosero and the audio provider simply downloaded the image and falsely labeled it as an ‘attack photo’.”

Gold Medalist firmly asserted, “This press conference is yet another fabrication by Garosero, aimed at cyber-terrorizing Kim Soo-hyun amid their legal troubles involving defamation, stalking, cybersex crimes and evidence fabrication. It serves as clear proof that Garosero’s past claims have been false and manipulated.”

The agency concluded, “Garosero’s actions constitute a new form of crime involving AI, and their attempt to destroy Kim Soo-hyun’s character through falsified evidence is a serious criminal offense. They will face the appropriate legal consequences. We will immediately file complaints for violation of the Anti-Stalking Act and the Information and Communications Network Act (defamation). We will work closely with law enforcement to ensure Garosero is held accountable under the law.”

The agency warned that this case highlights the emergence of AI-generated media as a new form of digital crime, calling for urgent attention and legal precedent.
