Since leaving the British Royal Family to move to the US in 2020, the relationship between Prince Harry and his family has become increasingly strained. However, he has maintained a close brotherly relationship with Princess Eugenie despite disagreements with other members. The bond between the Sussexes and Eugenie was even strengthened when Harry and Meghan bought a holiday home in Portugal, near the Princess' family's home last year.

The relationship has recently been reported to have "gone sour" after Eugenie was spotted having lunch with Piers Morgan - a TV journalist known for his anti-Meghan and Harry comments - in April 2023. A friend told The Sun: "It was seen as a betrayal because Piers has been very public about Meghan and Harry. Eugenie has supported them for years, even from the beginning of their relationship - but things have changed now."

On Piers Morgan Uncensored, the journalist himself appeared to confirm the news. He revealed that Harry had "flyed into a rage" over the incident: "It [Harry's break-up with Eugenie] was because of me. She was having lunch with me and a group of friends in a pub in London. I hugged Eugenie goodbye and Harry saw that and reacted violently. I'm sure it was completely true. He couldn't accept it."
