Choi Daniel Publicly Apologizes to IU for Past Radio Mishap: “I Was Inexperienced”
Actor Choi Daniel recently took a trip down memory lane and publicly apologized to IU for an incident that occurred during his early days as a radio DJ more than a decade ago.
Choi Daniel appeared on the May 5 episode of KBS Cool FM’s Park Myung-soo’s Radio Show, alongside singer Lee Moo-jin. During the broadcast, he reminisced about his time hosting Choi Daniel’s Pops Pops on KBS 2FM Radio.
“I used to host this show in the same time slot back in my 20s.”
“It’s been over ten years, and it feels so nostalgic to be here again. After my show ended, I became a regular listener of Myung-soo hyung’s program.”
Choi then recalled one particularly embarrassing moment from his DJ days.
“I think it was around the third day of going live. I hadn’t adapted to the pace yet, and IU appeared as a guest. I got so flustered that I forgot to give her a proper send-off. I didn’t mention her album or say goodbye I just closed the show.”

He then addressed IU directly through a humorous on-air message:
“IU, I’m really sorry. Back then, I didn’t know what I was doing — I was inexperienced and forgot to give you a proper farewell. Please forgive me.”
The candid and lighthearted apology drew laughter from both listeners and the show’s host. Fans appreciated Choi Daniel’s humility and sincerity, especially in an industry where moments like these often go unmentioned.
Choi Daniel, known for his roles in dramas like The Ghost Detective and High Kick Through the Roof, continues to endear fans with his genuine personality and sense of humor.
